Heads held high: U12s close the gap on Milton Keynes Breakers
Sunday, 11 October 2026 · Round 1 · Away

Milton Keynes Breakers U12 Mixed

U12s Mixed
120–26
LOST
A true David vs Goliath battle is the only way to describe our match-up this Sunday. Our team had covered every base and spent the whole week preparing for this clash, but Milton Keynes deployed a formidable “shock and awe” approach, with a highly drilled, experienced and physically imposing squad.
From the opening whistle, we found ourselves playing catch-up against their relentless offence. However, after a massive effort from our starting five, the second unit stepped up to the plate and truly excelled. Each developing player in this unit had been pulled aside before tip-off and challenged to be brave, take risks and play with confidence – and they did exactly that.
While every single player contributed, a special mention must go to this second unit, and especially James, who led our scoring with a hard-fought 8 points. In the face of a physically dominant opponent, our team showed immense heart and resilience. No one’s head dropped; we stuck together as a unit and walked off the court with our heads held high.
Ultimately, while the scoreboard finished 120–26 in Milton Keynes’ favour, this is our smallest margin of defeat against this fantastic side to date – a massive positive that we will absolutely celebrate. We are already looking forward to the next match and another chance to test ourselves against Milton Keynes.
