Under 16 Boys - South Conference
North Herts Knights U16 Reds 57-54 Bucks Hornets
Knights Edge Past Bucks Hornets in Thrilling 57-54 Victory
The North Herts Knights secured a hard-fought 57-54 win over the Bucks Hornets in what proved to be a physical and intense contest from start to finish.
Facing an older, more experienced side, the Knights delivered a complete team performance to overcome a strong opponent that came out playing physical basketball. The Hornets relied heavily on their drive-and-dish offense, but the Knights’ defensive scheme proved equal to the task.
Our help defense was exceptional throughout, with players rotating smartly and communicating effectively to shut down passing lanes. The defensive effort proved crucial down the stretch as we managed to hold on in a tense fourth quarter finish.
Individual performances stood out across the roster. Dylan was instrumental on the offensive end, while Joshua powered his way inside with some strong moves in the paint. Jacob delivered a defensive masterclass in the fourth quarter, completely shutting down their main shooter and holding him scoreless when it mattered most.
Dexter and Isaac were composed under pressure, handling the opposition’s full-court press with maturity and poise. David anchored the defense with a solid all-around performance, while Oli battled hard in the paint and controlled the defensive glass.
Owen brought tremendous energy on the defensive end and attacked the basket with purpose, while Cody, Finn and Manos both contributed strong performances when called upon.
It was a true team victory that showcased our depth and collective determination. While there are always areas to improve, this was a statement win that the entire squad can be proud of. Well done, Knights!

Under 16 Boys - South Conference
Aylesbury Dux U16 II 43-69 North Herts Knights U16 Blues
After the slow start we got a glimpse of what this team is capable of and probably the most physical the Blue team has played all season.
Some shout outs: Jamie provided much needed energy on the floor - fighting for rebounds, ripping the ball out of the oppositions hands, boxing out and driving hard to the basket. Emilijus also has a standout game - amazing rebounding and excellent control on the put backs, strong post moves to get to his position.
Alex had a great attacking game - driving well and knocking down two 3 pointers in a row. Reece G and Thomas Green also brought their strong driving game which was sorely needed.
Oli fought for everything out there and rebounded exceptionally well.
Tom Davies controlled the game well at the point and got his teammates involved.
Last but definitely not least, Tom Doody and Rio stifled their ball handlers with a lot of hard work on defence. The top of the zone is the most difficult position to play in our zone defence and they worked hard out there today.
There are some tough games coming up and the side will look to work on how they can do better at playing our game from the start of Q1 rather than the start of Q2.
Overall a top weekend of basketball with two more wins at U16s!
Great win for the Blue Team ! 💙🏀

Under 16 Boys National League - Conference 1
Bedford Thunder U16 RGL 35-67 North Herts Knights U16 Blues
The boys showed real composure against a very physical opponent, sticking to our game and playing high quality basketball from start to finish.
Our defense was locked in all game, with strong help rotation and effort that made the opposition work for every point. On offense, we stayed focused, fought through contact, and didn’t let no-calls or physical play throw us off.
Scoring was beautifully balanced, with five players hitting double figures. We hit the floor for loose balls, rebounded as a unit, and kept the intensity high for all four quarters, a slight dip to the third quarter with some scrappier play but we regained control and pace for the fourth.
Big credit to the team for staying disciplined, especially with the U16 conference rule requiring half court defense when leading by 20 points or more. We had two violations today (one technical saved by the refs calling it on the bench), but avoided the automatic 20 to 0 forfeit that would come with a third.
Final score 35-67
